The SurfAid Cup is the signature fundraiser for SurfAid globally. The first competition was held in 2011 and has grown to include three events in Australia and three in the US.
How it works
The SurfAid Cup is a tag-team surf competition open to long or short boarders who raise funds in order to compete. Each team is made up of four amateurs and one pro. The team that raises the most money gets the first pick from an impressive line-up of pros and local legends. The event has been supported by some of surfing’s most iconic and recognizable legends including Tom Carroll, Shane Dorian, Mark “Occy” Occhilupo, Layne Beachley, Rob Machado, Owen Wright, Simon Anderson, Sally Fitzgibbons, Luke Egan, Laura Enever, Lisa Andersen, Joel Tudor, Strider Wasilewski, Nat Young and Taj Burrow.
How you can help
Form a Team – grab 3 of your mates and spend the day surfing and saving lives. Corporate or Individual teams are welcome
Surf as an Individual – can’t find 3 friends to surf with you? Surf as an independent on a mixed team
Soul Surf – not able to surf, but still want to make an impact? Raise funds for SurfAid virtually and for those who meet their fundraising goals, earn the event SWAG items and party invites
Volunteer – show your support by helping out on the beach
